SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Los Angeles police released bodycam video of an officer-involved shooting and man who was Tasered that happened last year in South L.A.

The video shows two LAPD 77th Street officers who chase a man they said had a gun and pointed it at them.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 25 near the intersection of Main and 85th streets.

Authorities said the bodycam video came from an officer who was driving and it shows the suspect, DayVon George, tossing a gun into a yard and running from officers.

"As George was running, he turned and pointed the gun in the officer's direction. That's when the officer-involved shooting occurred. The driver officer fired once, and George was not struck," Capt. Gisselle Espinoza said.

Throughout the video, officers shout for other officers to find and secure the gun they said George had.

Two guns were found, according to Los Angeles police. George was taken to the hospital to be treated for Taser injuries. He's been charged with assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer.

Another man, who detectives said is a convicted felon, was also booked on suspicion of gun possession charges.

The case remains under investigation.

It could take up to a year for the L.A. Police Commission to rule if the Taser incident and officer-involved shooting were within department policy.
