LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Four hip Los Angeles eateries have been nominated for this year's Bon Appetit list of America's best new restaurants.

The nominees include Alimento in Silver Lake, which Bon Appetit calls a good spot for date night.

They recommend the chopped salad, the tortellini and the gourmet pig in a blanket.

Also nominated was Gjusta in Venice, opened by the people who brought you Gjelina. Inside the little warehouse, you'll find a high-end bakery and deli.

Bon Appetit says to try the baklava croissant or any of the veggie dishes.

Jon and Vinny's, located in the Fairfax District, was also nominated. Bon Appetit says come for the pizza and pasta -- and the celebrity sightings.

They recommend the spicy fusilli and the El Chaparrito pizza.

The final Los Angeles nominee is Petit Trois. The french bistro from celebrity chef Ludo Lefebvre is located near Highland and Melrose avenues.

Bon Appetit is partial to the burgundy escargot and the omelet.

Fifty restaurants from around the United States were nominated to the list, but only 10 will make Bon Appetit's Hot 10 list, which will be released on Aug. 18.
