1 killed, 9 injured as car crashes into Boyle Heights taco stand
Officials said one person was killed and several others injured when a car crashed into a taco stand in Boyle Heights.

BOYLE HEIGHTS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- One person was killed and nine others injured when a car crashed into a taco stand in Boyle Heights on Sunday, according to officials.

The crash happened in the 370 block of South Clarence Street at about 10:17 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Los Angeles police said people were in front of the taco stand ordering and waiting for food when a Nissan Altima crashed into vehicles near the stand and into them.

One person was killed and three were taken to the hospital, two of those in critical condition and the other with minor injuries, according to fire officials.

The person killed was at the taco stand, according to police, though it was undetermined if they were a customer or employee.

Six others who were hurt declined to go to the hospital after being checked at the scene.

Police said their investigation into what caused the crash was ongoing.
