Man shot by Ontario police during domestic call

ONTARIO, Calif. (KABC) -- A man was shot in Ontario by police who were responding to a call of a domestic disturbance.

It happened just before 9 a.m. on Sunday.

Police say a 911 caller indicated the man was armed, apparently with a rifle.

A Bearcat team was deployed, and at some point, the suspect was shot by officers and transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.

The Ontario Police Department confirmed that the man was in possession of a rifle.

No one else was injured.

Eyewitness News reached out to Ontario police for more information on the shooting and is waiting to hear back.
