RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KABC) -- Riverside has been ranked eighth in a list of coolest cities in America, earning a spot on a list that includes hip metropolises like Austin, San Francisco and Denver.
Forbes magazine based its ranking on things like diversity, local attractions, age, population growth and the arts. There was no human polling.
Some Southland residents were surprised by the findings, as Riverside was ranked higher than Los Angeles, which tied for 16 with San Jose.
Other Southern California cities that made the list include San Diego at No. 6, and Santa Ana at No. 20.
Washington D.C. was named coolest city in America.
