SAN DIEGO (KABC) -- A Hornblower cruise boat struck a pier filled with tourists in San Diego Thursday afternoon.
The frightening moment was caught on video as people scrambled to get out of the way of the 150-foot-long boat that had 144 passengers on board. A mechanical malfunction caused a gear to stick, preventing the vessel from properly stopping.
Just before it crashed into the dock, someone helped an elderly woman who was walking with a cane get out of the way. Seven people were hurt, but their injuries were non-life-threatening.
