HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Actor and restaurateur Danny Trejo was on hand Wednesday for the unveiling of a wax statue in his likeness at Madame Tussauds Hollywood.
"It's so humbling," Trejo told ABC7, standing near the wax figure that depicts him shirtless, with his arms spread apart in a muscular pose. "I don't know what to say."
Trejo noted that by being immortalized with a Madame Tussauds statue, he was following in the footsteps of such Hollywood icons and Humphrey Bogart and John Wayne.
"He looks better than I do," Trejo said, laughing and gesturing toward the figure that bears an unmistakable resemblance to him.
A group of master artists spent more than six months building the statue.
