VIDEO: Local restaurants shine during dineLA event

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- City Tavern and Border Grill are just two restaurants offering exclusive deals for foodies during the dineLA event.

Executive chef Jonathan Moulton said City Tavern's dineLA menu includes a New York strip steak, Panko-crusted fish and chips and roasted half chicken with a lemon pan sauce. There are also dineLA-exclusive desserts like cream puffs and root beer floats.

Now onto another downtown spot - Border Grill. Chef and owner Susan Feniger says dineLA is a great way for out-of-towners and locals to explore restaurants.

Caribbean carpaccio is something you won't find on Border Grill's regular menu. The dineLA-exclusive dish includes thin-cut halibut seasoned with salt, olive oil and the restaurant's special sauce, topped with a refreshing salad of celery, onion, lime and fried yams. Another dineLA exclusive - Border Grill's Barcelona chocolate cake.
