Du-par's closing Studio City location
The lease is ending for the popular Studio City location of Du-par's restaurant.

STUDIO CITY, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A popular San Fernando Valley spot for pancakes, pies and so much more for decades is closing its doors.

The lease is ending for the Studio City location of Du-par's restaurant.

The building's landlord signed a lease with the cosmetic retailer Sephora, according to Du-par's owners.

"After being here for 70 years, that's disappointing to leave," said restaurant co-owner W.W. "Biff" Naylor.

The Studio City restaurant will continue to be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week until serving its last meal on Dec. 31.

Customers will miss the friendly service and good food.

"It breaks my heart," said Gillian Cornelius of Studio City. "Whenever I'm having a pie craving, this is the place to come."

She and other customers also note that parking at the Studio City Plaza is tough and they fear Sephora may make it worse.

The restaurant chain, which opened in 1938, continues to have locations in Pasadena and at the LA Farmers Market on Third Street.

Sephora declined requests for comment to Eyewitness News, so it remains unclear when the retailer plans to move in to the location.
