3.1 magnitude earthquake shakes San Fernando Valley

NORTHRIDGE, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A 3.1-magnitude earthquake shook the Northridge area at 3:52 a.m., according to USGS.

Residents reported feeling shaking in Van Nuys, Hollywood, Studio City, Sherman Oaks and out to Simi Valley and Tujunga.

"Earthquake" was the top trend on Twitter in Los Angeles shortly after the earthquake.
