LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Workers removed the last of the exterior scaffolding this week, officially unveiling the facade of the Broad Museum in downtown Los Angeles.
The contemporary art museum has been in the works since 2012 and is located right across the street from the iconic Walt Disney Concert Hall at 221 S. Grand Ave.
The building's original concept was a majestic architectural landmark covered by a honeycomb veil. It also features an oculus or an apparent indentation into the side of the building.
The museum will be 120,000 square feet with an outdoor courtyard, a 105-foot escalator and 318 skylights. It will house more than 2,000 pieces of contemporary art from the Broad's family collection.
The public will be able to get in for free as early as this fall.
