The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission will begin interviewing dozens of female directors next week.

This could be the first step toward a massive, government-led class-action lawsuit against the entertainment industry.

According to a recent study, women made up just seven percent of the directors hired to shoot the top 250 grossing films of 2014.

Another report shows the number of television episodes directed by women last year was just 16 percent.
