Two-time Oscar nominee Viola Davis is setting her sights on television.
She stars as a tough criminal law professor in ABC's new drama "How to Get Away with Murder," the latest effort from executive producer Shonda Rhimes.
"Shonda does her job and then she expects you to do your job," Davis said. "That's what I appreciate about her."
Davis says it took her a while to figure out her character, Annalise Keating.
"Some people you can't quite crack, because they're not straightforward. They don't mean what they say, say what they mean and so it takes being with them, sitting with them," Davis said. "That's what I had to do with Annalise. I had to sit with her."
The actress says a big appeal to doing this show was being at home, where she gets to enjoy her other role as a wife and mother.
She and her husband, actor Julius Tennon, own a production company, so they often work on projects together.
But will he work on this one?
"Maybe he can be woven in there but, you know, I already have two love interests. I can't have a third!" Davis said.
