Future concert finally held at Supperclub after 2 cancellations

WEST HOLLYWOOD (KABC) -- Fans of the rapper Future faced some concert chaos after the star changed venues three times because of big crowds.

Future's planned free concert at The Roxy Theatre drew hundreds of fans that forced the closure of Sunset Boulevard between Doheny Drive and San Vicente Boulevard in West Hollywood Thursday afternoon.

The show, which was rescheduled to take place at the nearby House of Blues at 10 p.m., was canceled for a second time after someone set off two fire extinguishers and fans rushed the entrance.

The third time was the charm - the free performance finally happened at the Supperclub in Hollywood. The club reached capacity at midnight. No problems were reported, but that wasn't the case earlier in the night.

Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies in riot gear responded to the scene outside The Roxy Theatre at about 1 p.m. to control traffic and monitor the crowd on the world famous Sunset Strip.

Several hundred people hoping to get a wristband spilled into the street, forcing the closure of Sunset Boulevard. Disappointed fans were told to disperse by police after Future allegedly contacted the theater and canceled the concert.

"The artist realized that he had an overwhelming response, and we made several announcements that the concert had been canceled and it would take place at a later date at a larger venue so it would accommodate everyone," said Sgt. Richard Bowman at the West Hollywood Sheriff's Station.

For the second time in a day, the concert was canceled Thursday night after fans rushed the barricades at the House of Blues.

The Atlanta rapper, who released his highly anticipated third studio album," Dirty Sprite 2," on July 16, wanted to salute his fans with four free concerts in four cities.
