Woman, teen injured in Granada Hills hit-run crash; driver sought

GRANADA HILLS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A young driver suspected of injuring a woman and teenage girl in a hit-and-run crash in Granada Hills was arrested Saturday.

The driver turned himself in to police in the afternoon with family members and was booked for felony hit-and-run, officials said. The juvenile driver's identity was not released.

Right before 11 p.m. Friday, the woman and teen were crossing Chatsworth Street between Balboa Boulevard and Genesta Avenue when they were hit.

Witnesses told police that right after the crash, the driver in a dark-colored sedan screamed at the victims, made an obscene gesture with his hand and drove away. He headed westbound on Chatsworth Street.

The woman and the teen were taken to a nearby hospital. The woman, who is said to be in her 50s, suffered serious injuries and is listed in critical condition. The teen suffered moderate injuries and is listed in good condition.
