Student at Glen A. Wilson High School in Hacienda Heights arrested over shooting threat

HACIENDA HEIGHTS, Calif. (KABC) -- A 17-year-old student at Glen A. Wilson High School in Hacienda Heights was arrested Saturday in connection to a shooting threat, which prompted a lockdown at the campus last week.

Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies swarmed the campus on Oct. 26 to conduct a campus-wide search after a student found a threatening note inside a textbook. The note claimed a shooter would strike at lunchtime.

Responding officials determined students and faculty were safe and there was no threat to the campus. Detectives were able to identify the 17-year-old as the suspect during the later investigation.

The suspect was booked at the sheriff's Industry station for making a criminal threat.

"As a community of educators, our goal is to provide every student with a safe learning environment," Hacienda La Puente Unified School District Superintendent Cynthia Parulan-Colfer said. "We work hard to accomplish this every day, and we are committed to taking every action to ensure that we protect the students in our care."
