PALM BEACH, FL -- A Halloween cruise turned into a nightmare for passengers when things went wrong at sea.

The Bahamas Celebration was supposed to sail from the Bahamas to Florida. But on Saturday, as the cruise was headed back to Palm Beach, something went wrong. Passengers say they felt the boat rock and shake. It turned out that the ship had hit an unknown object.

Passenger Joan Fischer said, "Turned out to be an absolute disaster and it made us never want to go on another cruise ship again. We all got stuck last night at 8 o' clock. The lights blew out. We were all eating. It became total chaos."

A boat was sent to pick up the passengers in the Bahamas and ship them back to Miami.

They were then bused back to Palm Beach.

A cruise statement says, "Passengers weren't in any danger" and "at this point there is a 50 percent chance the ship will sink."
