LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Late local broadcast legend Huell Howser's house, which sits atop a volcano in the Mojave Desert, is up for sale.

Howser, who died two years ago, decorated the one-of-a-kind property with items collected on his travels across California.

The unique volcano house currently belongs to Chapman University, which is selling it for $650,000.

Howser, a Tennessee native, died Jan. 7, 2013 after battling cancer. He was best known for his show, "California's Gold," in which he profiled the interesting, quirky and fascinating people and places of our state for decades.

He was 67 years old.
