HUNTINGTON PARK, Calif. (KABC) -- A police chase ended in Huntington Park on early Friday morning when the suspect slammed into a vacant building, leaving a massive hole in the wall.



The incident happened at about 1 a.m. near the intersection of East Gage Avenue and South Alameda Street. Officers were seen converging on the car with guns drawn.



Authorities say the chase began after officers saw a reckless driver in a white Volkswagen. Following the crash, the suspect was reportedly trapped in the vehicle for more than an hour before being freed by Los Angeles County firefighters.
