At Orange County summit, Ivanka Trump defends her dad

DANA POINT, Calif. (KABC) -- Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka appeared in Orange County on Wednesday, defending her dad and saying he would accept the outcome of the vote despite his assertions that the election is "rigged."

Ivanka Trump appeared at Fortune's "The Most Powerful Women" summit at the Ritz Carlton in Dana Point. She spoke for about 20 minutes in front of an audience of about 200 women.

She addressed the vulgar comments about women that her father was recorded saying in that now infamous 2005 video with Billy Bush.

"Well he recognizes it was crude language. He was embarrassed that he had said those things and he apologized. That's not language consistent with any conversation I have ever had with him certainly or any conversation that I have overheard so it was a bit jarring for me to hear and he was very sincere in his apology," she said.

She was also asked if she agreed with her father that the election was "rigged." She didn't say that, but said the media was unfair.

"He'll either win or he won't win and I believe he will accept the outcome either way," she said.
