Jamie Foxx on Hidden Valley dramatic rescue: I'm not a hero

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Jamie Foxx may have saved the life of a driver stuck in a burning truck, but he says he's not a hero.

Foxx, 48, said he heard the crash outside his home Monday night, called 911 and then he rushed down to the scene. The 2007 Toyota Tacoma was already on its side and on fire, with 32-year-old Brett Kyle still inside. The door was locked, and the window was up.

With help from an off-duty paramedic, Foxx pulled the man to safety.

The Oscar-winning actor remained modest when speaking to media Tuesday.

"I don't look at it as heroic," he said. "You just had to do something, and it all just worked out."

Foxx met with the driver's emotional father, Brad Kyle, who thanked him for saving his son's life.

"It doesn't matter to me who it was or what they do for a living," he said. "Just the idea that someone would do that is so much more than I could fathom."

Surveillance video from Foxx's property showed other vehicles driving by and not stopping to help, Brad Kyle said.

Brett Kyle remains hospitalized with broken bones and a punctured lung, but he was expected to survive. He may face charges for driving under the influence of alcohol.

According to Foxx's property manager Manny Ortiz, the actor suffered minor cuts and burns to his hands.
