85-year-old man killed in San Bernardino hit-run

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (KABC) -- An 85-year-old man who went missing from an assisted care facility was killed during a hit-and-run accident while crossing the street in San Bernardino on Friday.

John Preciado, 85, of Mentone, was reported missing on Friday at about 8 a.m. from his facility. Shortly before 9 p.m., he was crossing at the intersection of West Rialto Avenue and G Street shortly when he was struck by a car. The car fled the scene.

Preciado was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center, where he died Saturday morning.
