LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. (KABC) -- A boy from Lake Elsinore has a unique bond with his neighborhood garbage man.
Every Tuesday morning, Rylan Checchia is up and out the door by 8 a.m. to await the arrival of the trash truck.
The trash man likes to put on a show for Rylan, moving the truck's mechanical arm to the awe of the child.
During last week's trash collection though, Rylan's mother said he was upset when there was a "substitute" garbage man.
"He came inside very upset. He wouldn't wave to the driver. He wouldn't even look in his direction because it wasn't his guy. They have a special thing," Kimberly Checchia said.
"He's awesome and he's my best friend," Rylan said.
Rylan's favorite trash man was back this Tuesday and he got a big thumbs up before the driver went to the next home.
