Los Angeles International Airport ran a drill overnight to test their emergency systems

The Los Angeles International Airport turned off the power in some terminals last night to test its emergency systems.

Airport officials wanted to make sure the airport could handle a major power outage and they said it took about 18 minutes for the generator to have the system back up and running.

The emergency drill happened between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. and no incoming flights were scheduled during this time.
