LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- You may want to keep the rain boots and umbrellas out as the third storm to hit Southern California this week moves into the region Thursday morning, bringing more rain to areas previously affected.
Powerful thunderstorms, wind and rain battered the region just days ago, toppling over trees and leading to water rescues.

The third storm of the week is quickly moving into Southern California, bringing more rain and snow, but the region will soon get a break from the wet weather.
Light to moderate rail will continue to move east, with heavy downpours possible at times. Cold temperatures and gusty conditions with potentially damaging winds will remain even after the rain stops.
The widespread rain will begin to taper off by the early afternoon hours as it moves into the Inland Empire.

Northbound 5 Fwy shut down in Gorman due to crash
A portion of the northbound 5 Freeway was shut down in the Gorman area Wednesday morning due to a crash.
The crash was reported around 6 a.m. at Parker Road, according to the California Highway Patrol. Light snow falling in the area.
AIR7 was over the scene where a semi-truck was overturned and a pickup truck appeared to have slammed into a tree.
Additional details about the crash were limited, but at least one injured person was being airlifted from the scene.
Traffic was being diverted to the 138.

All southbound lanes of the 405 Freeway were shut down Wednesday morning due to a large tree that was dangling over the roadway.
The closure was near the Sunset Boulevard onramp in Brentwood, according to the California Highway Patrol. It was reported around 1 a.m.
Video from the scene showed the tree hovering all southbound lanes.

The incident comes as yet another storm drenched the region with rain and whipped it with strong winds.

Severe thunderstorm warning issued for parts of LA County
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for a large swath of Los Angeles County. The warning is in effect through 1:45 a.m. Wednesday.
