Mountain roads closed in L.A. County as heavy rain floods local streets
A series of mountain road closures went into effect in Los Angeles County on Monday as heavy rain flooded local streets, leaving some drivers anxious as they attempted to navigate deep puddles and slushy conditions.
Vehicles created large splashes along watercovered roads, and several motorists said the storm made driving difficult.
A driver said she witnessed dangerous conditions on the freeways.
"I saw the freeway, people were just like, you know, hydroplaning, so it seems like it's pretty wet out there," said Eva, who lives in Altadena.
To protect motorists, Los Angeles County Public Works announced multiple mountain road closures, including:
Angeles Forest Highway from Aliso Canyon Road to Highway 2
Big Tujunga Canyon Road from Angeles Forest Highway to Vogel Flat Road
Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road from Angeles Forest Highway to Angeles Crest Highway
County officials urged drivers to use caution and expect delays as two more storms will move through the region this week.
