Stolen car suspect leads CHP on high-speed chase through South LA

Officers with the California Highway Patrol and other agencies are in pursuit of a suspect in a stolen car.

The chase of the white SUV started in Costa Mesa Wednesday morning and made its way north into the South Los Angeles area.

The suspect reached high speeds on multiple freeways before entering the city of Inglewood.

Shortly before 11 a.m., authorities lost sight of the vehicle as it approached the 405 Freeway from the westbound 105 Freeway.

Flight restrictions above nearby Los Angeles International Airport hampered efforts by a sheriff's helicopter and media choppers from searching for the fleeing vehicle.

Details of the theft of the SUV in Orange County were not immediately available.
