Cleanup efforts underway across Southern California ahead of another storm

Efforts are underway across Southern California to clean up downed trees, flooding and rockslides after days of rain, and the rush is on to get it all done before the next storm moves in.

Conditions will dry up somewhat for the next few days, but more rain is on the way to the region this week.

A chance for spotty, light showers will stick around Tuesday morning and afternoon.

Wednesday is expected to be mostly dry before another system arrives and brings even more showers between Thursday and Friday.

Forecasters said that system could drop another quarter to three-quarters of an inch of rain.

Rain hampering rebuilding efforts in fire-ravaged neighborhoods

The downpours are slowing rebuilding efforts across Southern California's fire-ravaged neighborhoods. Construction crews aren't making much progress this week.

In Altadena, work crews wrapped homes under construction in plastic to protect them from the next storm moving in.

Tarps covered the roofs of homes under construction, and properties were left muddy from the storm. Some construction crews said the rain has slowed down the progress of rebuilding.

Flash flood warning issued for portion of Los Angeles County

A flash flood warning until 7 p.m. has been issued for parts of Los Angeles County, including Santa Clarita, San Fernando and Calabasas.

As another band of heavy rain moves through the region, a flash flood warning has been issued for parts of Los Angeles County.

The warning is set to expire at 7 p.m. Monday.

According to the National Weather Service, the warning includes Santa Clarita, San Fernando and Calabasas. A population of nearly 1.3 million people lives within the warning area.
