LONG BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- A hotel cook who allegedly made threats to "shoot up" fellow employees and guests at the Airport Marriott in Long Beach has been arrested, police said.

Rodolfo Montoya, 37, was arrested in Huntington Beach. A search of his home turned up multiple firearms, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, tactical gear, high capacity magazines and an assault rifle which are illegal to possess in California.

Long Beach police said Montoya had the means to carry out a mass casualty incident.

Authorities started investigating the threat on Monday after a fellow employee of Montoya's reported it.

Montoya has been booked on manufacturing and distributing assault weapons, possession of an assault weapon and making a criminal threat.

Montoya is being held on $500,000 bail. Police say he is the sole person responsible for making the threat.
