IRVINE, Calif. (KABC) -- An engine compartment on a Metrolink train caught fire in Irvine, prompting evacuations for passengers and crew members.

The fire broke out shortly before 10 a.m. Thursday near the 5 Freeway and Sand Canyon Avenue. Three crew members and 56 passengers were evacuated and transferred to their destination by bus.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
