SANTA CATALINA ISLAND, Calif. (KABC) -- Search crews found the body of a missing diver, who disappeared near the Two Harbors area of Catalina Island on Sunday night.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Special Enforcement Bureau posted on their Twitter account that its diving team located the diver's body at a depth of 100 feet.

Sheriff's officials say a recreational diving vessel reported a diver in distress shortly before 11 p.m. Monday around Indian Rock. The diver was part of a larger group on a lobster diving trip.

Witnesses say the diver yelled for help, and then disappeared under the water.

The investigation into the diver's death is ongoing.
