MONROVIA, Calif. (KABC) -- Monday was trash day for some residents living in the city of Monrovia, and that meant a free meal for a roaming hungry bear.

A large bear was spotted digging through someone's trash on the 400 block of North Myrtle Avenue. The bear was digging so deep that it nearly went all the way inside the garbage bin.

It's not unusual for Monrovia residents to see the animals roaming their neighborhood.

Monrovia police say they didn't respond to any call of a bear sighting Monday morning.

It's not clear if the animal went back into the mountains.
