MONTEREY PARK, Calif. (KABC) -- Police were searching Thursday for a man and a woman suspected of being responsible for 14 burglaries in Monterey Park.
On Monday, authorities believe the two broke into a home in the 700 block of Ridgecrest Street between 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., shortly after the residents left. Before entering, the woman looks at a surveillance camera near the front door.
She leaves, but returns about 30 minutes later, entering the house with a man through a bathroom window.
Surveillance photos clearly show two burglary suspects inside a Monterey Park home. They stole computers, jewelry and other valuables.
"I came in, noticed that some of the drawers in the front of my house were open and then I noticed the back door open as well," resident Wesley Tong said.
"I called my dad to see if the surveillance cameras were running to get the pictures, which they did," Tong said.
Police believe the pair committed 14 burglaries in Monterey Park and may be responsible for other break-ins in the San Gabriel Valley. The burglars strike between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
"They knock on the doors, ring the doorbell, see if anyone's home. If no one is home, they usually go to a back door, a sliding glass door, a window," Monterey Park Police Sgt. Frank Duke said.
The female suspect was described as between 18 to 25 years old and around 5 feet and three inches tall with a thin build. The man is described as heavyset and between five feet and five inches and five feet and seven inches tall.
"Hopefully with these pictures, they'll be able to catch this person who allegedly did all the different robberies," Tong said.
