Woman with Alzheimer's disease disappears at LACMA; family desperate to find her

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A woman suffering from Alzheimer's disease disappeared during a trip to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and family and friends are desperate to find her.

More than a hundred people gathered at LACMA Thursday night for a candlelight vigil for Nancy Paulikas.

The 55-year-old vanished Oct. 15 after she became separated from her family at the museum.

Surveillance video shows her walking west on Wilshire Boulevard.

Family members said Alzheimer's has taken a toll.

"As someone that's known her for 28 years, to watch her go down that slope is just horrifying. It's been just horrendous to not know where Nancy is," said family friend Matthew Lewis. "To believe, as we still do, that she's out here in Los Angeles and that's why we're doing this event."

Loved ones held candles and walked down Wilshire Boulevard to Crescent Heights Boulevard, near where she was last seen, as an effort to "light up Los Angeles for Nancy" and have her come home.

The family is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to her location.
