Apartment fire displaces families in Sun Valley

SUN VALLEY, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Several residents in Sun Valley are in temporary housing after an apartment building fire early Sunday.

The blaze erupted around 12:30 a.m. in the 12500 block of Roscoe Boulevard, according to Los Angeles City Fire Department Battalion 12 Chief Rick Combs.

It took firefighters about 20 minutes to get the flames at the two-story complex under control.

The fire scorched two units near the rear of the building, but all occupants escaped unharmed.

Five adults and two children were displaced as a result of the fire.

The cause of the blaze remained under investigation.
