150 evacuated in Temple City due to gas leak

TEMPLE CITY, Calif. (KABC) -- About 150 people have been evacuated in Temple City after construction workers hit a gas line.

Authorities say the incident happened near Temple City Community Learning in the 9200 block of Pentland Street at 8:27 a.m. Tuesday.

People in a one-block radius of the gas leak, including students at the continuation school, were moved to La Rosa Elementary School.

Streets in the area were closed for a short time, but they have since reopened.
