Suspect tries to steal ATM using forklift stolen from Target in Santa Fe Springs

WHITTIER, Calif. (KABC) -- Authorities searched for a man suspected of trying to steal an ATM in Santa Fe Springs with the help of a forklift.

It happened Sunday afternoon at the Wells Fargo on Telegraph Road. The suspect ended up leaving both the forklift and ATM in the parking lot of a Target, which is also where the forklift was stolen.

Authorities believe the suspect drove away in a white Honda Fit. Anyone with more information was asked to call the Whittier Police Department.
