LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. (KABC) -- Three Temescal Canyon High School students were arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats to other students after authorities investigated a rumor of a shooting threat at the Lake Elsinore campus.

Authorities were first notified of the threat on Saturday. They arrived at the school on Monday to serve search warrants and collect evidence. Upon investigation, the three students were arrested.

Temescal Canyon High School remained open during the incident, but security was increased as a precaution. Increased law enforcement is expected to stay on campus.
