LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A grandmother and her 5-year-old grandson were injured after they were struck by a hit-and-run driver while crossing the street in Los Angeles.

The crash happened on Wednesday shortly before 8 a.m. on Beverly Boulevard east of Robertson Street.

The grandmother, 48-year-old Emma Cermeno, and her grandson were crossing the street when they were hit by a gray older model Lincoln Navigator traveling eastbound on Beverly Boulevard. The two pedestrians were crossing northbound on Beverly Boulevard, officials said.

Cermeno and her grandson were taken to the hospital. She was listed in stable condition, but the boy remains in serious condition.
