LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A woman in her 40s has died after being struck by a Metro Blue Line train near downtown Los Angeles on Friday evening.
Los Angeles firefighters responded to the collision shortly after 6 p.m. near East 24th Street and Long Beach Avenue. It was unclear what the woman was doing on the tracks.
At about 7:10 p.m., passengers could be seen disembarking from the train.
Metro reported major disruptions on the Blue Line. Officials recommended using the Silver Line or the Green Line for travel between downtown Los Angeles and Willowbrook.
