Orange County motorcycle deputy injured in Diamond Bar crash

DIAMOND BAR, Calif. (KABC) -- An Orange County Sheriff's Department motorcycle deputy from Yorba Linda was injured in a crash in Diamond Bar Thursday morning.

The collision occurred on the southbound side of the 57 Freeway near Brea Canyon Road around 6 a.m.

The deputy's motorcycle appeared heavily damaged, but authorities said the deputy was transported to an area hospital with only minor injuries.

Multiple southbound lanes of the freeway were shut down following the wreck, snarling traffic for miles.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
