BARSTOW, Calif. (KABC) -- A suspect in an alleged stolen black BMW led California Highway Patrol officers on a high-speed chase through San Diego, Riverside and San Bernardino counties Monday afternoon.

The chase began in the Fallbrook area of north San Diego County shortly after 2 p.m. when the suspect failed to yield, CHP said. Officers chased the stolen black BMW 328 onto northbound Interstate 15.

Charles Bouvier Williams, 47, crossed into Riverside County and continued fleeing, driving northbound past Victorville and Barstow in San Bernardino County.

At one point, the suspect was driving as fast as 100 mph. The chase ended south of East Baker Boulevard in the Baker area at about 4:30 p.m.

Williams slowed and pulled to the right shoulder of the freeway and was taken into custody without incident. He is facing several charges, including the unlawful taking or driving of a vehicle and evading a peace officer.

It remains unknown if drugs or alcohol played a factor in the chase. No other details were immediately available.
