NORTH HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Police are looking for the suspect or suspects who killed a 74-year-old man, who was found stabbed in North Hollywood.
Officers initially received a radio call about a "possible suicide" in the 4900 block of Vineland Avenue shortly before 11 p.m. Thursday.
When police arrived on scene, they found the victim, later identified by the coroner's office as Robert Caldwell of North Hollywood, unconscious and not breathing.
Investigators said Caldwell was stabbed multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Caldwell's son said he doesn't understand why anyone would want to hurt his father.
"Whoever did this, that was senseless. What are you looking for? What are you going to get from a 70-to 80-year-old man, besides his SSI check and some pills? If that's what he was about," said Gino Caldwell.
