Car slams into pole in Ralphs parking garage in Glendale; 2 dead

GLENDALE, Calif. (KABC) -- A car slammed into a pole in a Ralphs parking garage in Glendale Thursday. Police say two elderly people inside the car have died.

The crash happened in the 200 block of North Glendale Avenue at about 1 p.m., and according to police, the car struck the concrete pillar at a high rate of speed.

Two women inside the vehicle were declared dead at the scene. Their names have not been released.

No pedestrians were injured in the incident. The cause of the accident has not been determined.
