Clerk shot during Sylmar liquor store robbery; suspect sought

SYLMAR, Calif. (KABC) -- A liquor store clerk was shot during a robbery in Sylmar Tuesday, Los Angeles Police Department officials said. The suspect remains on the loose.

The incident occurred at El Rancho Plaza Market & Liquor in the 13500 block of Glenoaks Boulevard around 8:30 p.m.

The victim was transported to a local hospital.

The suspect who shot the clerk was wearing a bandana, according to LAPD Lt. Paul Vernon. He was described as a black male, standing around 5 feet 6 inches tall, and was last seen wearing a green Polo shirt. He fled the scene in a two-door Honda Civic.
