NORWALK, Calif. (KABC) -- Los Angeles County sheriff's homicide detectives are investigating a double shooting that left one man dead and another in serious condition Sunday.
Deputies responded to a call of shots fired in the 12000 block of Molette Street at about 2:30 a.m., officials said, and found the two men suffering from gunshot wounds to their upper torsos.
Both were transported to nearby hospitals, where one victim died from multiple wounds. The deceased man's name was not immediately released.
The second victim was listed in serious condition from a single gunshot wound, according to sheriff's officials.
LASD investigators did not yet have information on a suspect or suspects.
A bicycle was found at the crime scene, but investigators said it was unclear whether it belonged to one of the victims or a suspect.
A motive for the shooting was unknown.
"Right now, without being able to talk to the survivor, our information is limited," sheriff's Detective Philip Guzman said in an interview at the scene. "Based on what we see, there were multiple rounds fired -- ballpark, it was in excess of 10."
Anyone with information was urged to contact the LASD's homicide bureau at (323) 890-5500. You can also provide information anonymously by dialing (800) 222-TIPS (8477) or visiting http://www.lacrimestoppers.org.
