LAX unveils $332 million overhaul of Terminal 2
LAX added new restaurants and retail stores for international travelers at Terminal 2 as part of an ongoing $8.5 billion makeover.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Los Angeles International Airport unveiled a $332 million renovation of Terminal 2 on Tuesday, offering new high-end restaurants and retail stores to serve international travelers.

The revamped terminal is the latest milestone in a massive $8.5 billion makeover of five terminals at LAX.

The airport worked with mall developer Westfield to renovate some 76,000 square feet of space. New additions to the terminal included restaurants such as SeaLegs Wine Bar and Beaney's Beanery and retail outlets for Univision and Spanx.

"This terminal alone - the second busiest international terminal at LAX - serves more than 1 million U.S. travelers and about 4 million travelers from abroad each year," Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti said.

The renovation comes at a historic time for LAX, which last year saw a record 74.8 million passengers pass through its gates.

Terminal 2 serves 11 airlines that include Aeromexico, Hawaiian Air and Virgin Atlantic.
