Lockdown lifted at Glen A. Wilson High School in Hacienda Heights after threatening note

HACIENDA HEIGHTS, Calif. (KABC) -- A threatening note found inside a textbook that claimed a shooter would strike at lunchtime sparked a lockdown at Glen A. Wilson High School in Hacienda Heights on Monday.

A student alerted school administrators at about 9:20 a.m., at which point a full school-wide lockdown was initiated, according to Hacienda La Puente Unified School District Superintendent Cynthia Parulan-Colfer.

Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies swarmed the campus to conduct a campus-wide search. The lockdown was lifted at 1:50 p.m. after officials determined students and faculty were safe and there was no threat to the campus.

"We know that this is a stressful situation for everyone involved and we apologize and share in the anxiety that we know this creates for parents," Parulan-Colfer said. "Our commitment is to providing parents and the community with as much information as quickly and accurately as possible."
