Lockdown lifted at Magnolia Junior High School in Chino after anonymous threat

CHINO, Calif. (KABC) -- Students at Magnolia Junior High School in Chino were on lockdown after an anonymous threat against the school was discovered on social media on Monday morning.

The anonymous threat involved a student claiming he was a victim of bullying and was going to go on campus and would no longer be bullied, said Julie Gobin, a Chino Valley Unified School District spokeswoman.

Chino police officers responded to the school, located at 13150 Mountain Avenue. Students were originally allowed on campus and told to "shelter in place," which means staying inside their classrooms.

The school was then placed on a full lockdown, which meant no one was allowed to come and go, said Gobin.

The lockdown was lifted around 10:55 a.m., but officials say the investigation continues.
