DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Family and friends gathered in downtown Los Angeles on Monday to celebrate the life of a veteran Los Angeles firefighter who died in a car crash while on duty.
Battalion Chief Jerome Boyd died after crashing on Los Angeles Street the morning of April 28.
Officials said Boyd had suffered a medical emergency before the crash.
The 55-year-old was a 30-year veteran of the department.
Monday's ceremony was held at The Novo at L.A. Live.
